About Us

The CA-782nd Air Force Junior ROTC program is dedicated to developing citizens of character and preparing students to become leaders in their schools, communities, and beyond. Through leadership training, aerospace education, and community service, cadets gain essential life skills that foster discipline, teamwork, and responsibility.

Our mission is to “Develop citizens of character.” Every cadet learns the values of integrity, service, and excellence while gaining leadership experience that extends far beyond the classroom.

What We Do

The CA-782nd Corps participates in a wide range of activities — from drill competitions and color guard performances to community service projects and academic teams. Each opportunity helps cadets build confidence, discipline, and pride in their accomplishments.

Our Legacy

Since its establishment, the CA-782nd Corps has upheld a proud tradition of excellence. Our cadets consistently demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and respect, representing the values of the Air Force both in school and in the community.

Major

SASI: USAF (Ret) Maj Jose Bareng

Jose Bareng is an experienced educator who has been a junior ROTC instructor since 2012, with three years of experience teaching college-level ROTC. A retired U.S. Air Force officer, he served for 23 years in active duty. Maj Bareng has professional experience in software systems design and analysis through the Air Force and holds a California Designated Subjects Special Subjects Teaching Credential in ROTC. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Software Systems Engineering.

Sergeant

SASI: USAF (Ret) Master Sergeant Carlos Guevara

Carlos Guevara is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant. He served 26 years on active duty. MSgt Guevara managed both the wing operation security (OPSEC) and tactical
deception (TD) programs. He deployed to Iraq (Camp Victory) and provided force protection expertise directly to the Pentagon. While deployed to Soto Cano, AB, Honduras, he facilitated communication and coordinated activities as the official liaison (Liaison NCO) for senior officials. He also served as a critical member of the Wing Threat Working Group, significantly improving the Wing’s ability to counter local threats. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Masters in Liberal Arts.
